Move is a game mechanic in Spirit Island that allows players to change a game piece's location on the board.

The most common moves are

Gather: Move (stated pieces) into a land from adjacent land(s). [1]
Push: Move (stated pieces) to adjacent land(s). [2]
Move Presence: Moveonepresence.png Move one of your Presence up to the shown number of lands away from where it currently lies. Generally in Spirit Phase.

Pieces that can be moved include:
Dahan Dahanicon.png, Invaders Explorericon.png/Townicon.png/Cityicon.png, Blight Blighticon.png, Presence Presenceicon.png, and Tokens Beastsicon.png Diseaseicon.png Wildsicon.png Strifeicon.png Badlandsicon.png

Gather

Gather: Move (stated pieces) into a land from adjacent land(s). [1]

Explain core gather.png

Only pulls things in from lands adjacent to the target.[3]

Pieces gathered may come from different lands, or all from the same land, as you wish.[3]

And activates corresponding effects e.g. "After Invaders/Dahanicon.png are Moved into target land, Destroy them." as in Melt Earth Into Quicksand[4]

Push

Push: Move (stated pieces) to adjacent land(s). [2]

Explain core push.png

Only pushes things to lands adjacent to the target.[3]

Pieces pushed may go to different lands, or all to the same land, as you wish.[3]

Not off the board or into the Ocean (unless Ocean's Hungry Grasp is in play and has presence Presenceicon.png on that board).[3]

And activates corresponding effects e.g. "After Invaders/Dahanicon.png are Moved into target land, Destroy them." as in Melt Earth Into Quicksand.[4]

Presence Presenceicon.png

Move one of your Presence up to the shown number of lands away from where it currently lies.[5] Generally in Spirit Phase.

It is rarely relevant, but whenever you would add Presence Presenceicon.png, you may choose to instead move one of your Presence already on the board. So, if you manage to get all your Presence into play, you can still reposition it. (This is still considered "adding a Presence", not "moving a Presence"; later reprints of the rulebooks use the term repositioning.)[6]

Blight Blighticon.png

Some Power Cards move Blighticon.png. Moving Blighticon.png does NOT Destroy Presenceicon.png or trigger cascades! [7]
